CASE STUDY

I was retained by a plaintiff who was suing her former employer for sexual harassment. The plaintiff was an attractive, intelligent, 35 year old woman with several years of experience in sales and marketing. She worked for the defendant for approximately 5 months and then left because she was sexually harassed by her boss. She left this company and obtained a position as a sales representative earning more than her previous position. She stayed there for 1 year and was hired by another company in a sales position and earned even more money. After approximately 1 year with this company, she claimed that she could no longer work in sales. I reviewed psychological reports which stated that she was traumatized by the sexual harassment and could no longer work in sales. Based on her limited education and inability to work in sales, I concluded in a report and testified to same in Federal Court in the Southern District of New York that she was employable in a clerical capacity earning a reduced income. The plaintiff settled the case for $750,000.
